Philadelphia, PA — [September 15th] — The Middle States Association (MSA) proudly announces the appointment of Tara Waudby as the new Vice President of Evolution Academy, an innovative division dedicated to reimagining professional learning and leadership development for schools around the world.
With nearly 30 years of experience as an international educator and leader, Waudby brings a wealth of expertise and a deep commitment to compassion-driven education. A third-culture kid herself, she has served in diverse roles across global contexts — including teacher, Head of School, and Assistant Superintendent for Learning — with a special focus on middle school leadership and the wellbeing of students and staff alike.
Most recently, Waudby served as Regional Education Officer with the U.S. Department of State’s Office of Overseas Schools, where she partnered with schools, embassies, and consulates across Europe and Latin America to strengthen educational communities serving U.S. families abroad.
She is also the co-founder of the Compassion Summit, a global initiative that builds coalitions of schools dedicated to fostering compassion and peace. Waudby holds a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership, an MFA in Poetry, and certificates in educational technology and future-driven schooling. She is currently completing her doctorate in Education for Social Justice at the University of San Diego.
In her new role, Waudby will oversee the growth and strategic direction of Evolution Academy, expanding its suite of learning experiences, certifications, and professional development programs designed to support school leaders in navigating change with purpose.
