Middle States is pleased to announce that Michelle Haag, Ph.D., has joined the organization as an associate vice president.
Haag is well acquainted with the Middle States accreditation process. Previously, she was a longtime volunteer, and has served on 12 visiting teams.
“I believe in the Middle States accreditation process and have seen firsthand the benefits it can provide to schools and school systems throughout the world,” Haag said.
Haag has spent most of her career in curriculum design and instruction in international schools. She has led teams of educators on visits to schools in the U.S. and around the world, including Catholic schools, a military academy, and an alternative education school. Haag earned her bachelor’s degree from John Carroll University in University Heights, Ohio, and her master’s degree in educational leadership curriculum and a doctorate in philosophy from Cleveland State University in Cleveland, Ohio.
She is also a past recipient of the F. Laird Evans Outstanding Volunteer Award which recognizes a dedicated volunteer who has advanced the mission of Middle States to foster continuous school improvement through accreditation, so all students receive the highest quality education possible. F. Laird Evans is the former president of the Middle States Commission on Elementary Schools and an ardent supporter of school accreditation.
