The Middle States Association Commissions on Elementary and Secondary Schools (MSA-CESS) announced today that it has named Christian Talbot, a proven educational leader with a strong commitment to continuous growth and improvement, as its next president, effective July 1, 2022.
Talbot is currently the interim president of Regis High School in New York, N.Y., a position he has held since April 2021. He also served as an English teacher and chair of the English Department at Regis for 14 years.
“Christian’s background as a teacher and school leader, his experience with the Middle States accreditation process, and his incredible passion for education make him well-suited to this position,” said Clayton Petry, chair of the Middle States Commission on Elementary Schools. “Christian stood out among a pool of highly-qualified applicants because of his strategic approach to management and clear commitment to improving education for students throughout the world.”
Talbot is also a lecturer in the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Social Policy and Practice and the founder and principal of Basecamp Consulting and JUNO Strategy & Design, where he works with school leaders to design and execute strategic growth initiatives. Basecamp also leads Expeditionaries, a social entrepreneurship bootcamp for high school students.
After graduating from Georgetown University with a bachelor’s degree in English, Talbot taught high school English for several years before becoming Head of School for Malvern Preparatory School in Malvern, Pa. He earned a master’s degree in psychoanalysis from the Boston Graduate School of Psychoanalysis, and has served on several school boards including Fordham Preparatory School in Bronx, N.Y. where he is a current trustee.
