Join us in welcoming Sarah Gallagher, Head of School for Marymount International School Rome, as one of our newest commissioners.
A resident of Rome, Gallagher has taught in Ireland, the United Kingdom and in the United States. While living in London, she spent she spent seven years as headmistress of Marymount International School London. In 2016, she became head of school for Marymount International School Rome. Gallagher earned her bachelor’s degree, a higher diploma in education and her master’s degree from the National University of Ireland and pursued doctoral studies at SUNY Buffalo.
Her expertise in the field of education in international schools brings great diversity to our organization. Her understanding of international schools strengthens the accreditation process around the world.
“Sarah has extensive experience as an educator here in the United States and abroad and has seen firsthand the impact of Middle States accreditation,” said Lisa Marie McCauley, president of the Middle States Association Commissions on Elementary and Secondary Schools. “In her current role, Sarah leads a co-educational day school that serves students from early childhood through grade 12. We are happy she is willing to lend her expertise to the schools we serve.”
