The “Year of the Middle States Network” continues with a series of in-person workshops designed to inspire and support education leaders who are working toward transformational change within their school communities.
Three unique workshops will be held this June in Philadelphia, Pa., and are open to a limited number of Middle States members and non-members.
The workshops will blend real-world case studies, group discussion, and guided instruction from a diverse team of experts in education innovation and management. Participants will come away with concrete ideas and tools for implementing change in their educational communities.
Workshop I: The Two Journeys
The pandemic has fundamentally altered schools, which means we must lead schools in new ways. In this masterclass in change leadership, participants will reflect on where they and their schools have come from, make sense of where they are now, and plan for where they are headed.

Workshop II: Forces At Play
In this scenario-planning workshop, participants will confront a question: in this late pandemic moment, how do we make sense of the forces at play that will affect how we run our schools? Together we will explore the shape of existing problems, anticipate future ones, and come away with a better sense of the ways in which tectonic shifts are reordering the way we “do school.”
