Thank you to the hundreds of MSA-CESS volunteers who took part in virtual visits in 2020-21. The hard work of these peer educators provided their schools with invaluable observations, insights, and recommendations for the future. The virtual format was a new experience for most of us but, thankfully, a rewarding one as well.
Most U.S. schools are returning to in-person learning this fall, and health and safety policies vary widely from one building to the next. With this in mind, our plan for most domestic Fall 2021 visits continues to be a hybrid approach. Most of the team will participate virtually, while the Team Chair will ideally lead the visit from the school building. Our top priority is the health and safety of everyone involved, and the Team Chair and the school will adjust the format as needed.
Due to border closures, the difficulty of international travel, and health and safety regulations in different localities, most visits outside of the United States will remain fully virtual, at least through the fall of 2021.
Our ultimate goal is to return to fully onsite visits as quickly and safely as possible. We expect more domestic team members to participate in person for visits beginning in February 2022. These visits may be similar to those of the past, but our teams will continue to use some of the new tools that have been added in the past two years.
If you are interested in serving on a team, or if you have questions about the format of our visits in 2021-22, please reach out to Dave Sisbarro, Director of Volunteer Services, at dsisbarro@msa-cess.org, or 267.284.5034.
