In August, MSA-CESS received approval from the Department of Defense (DoD) to offer eligible accredited child care providers and schools that have an early childhood education component the opportunity to participate in a fee assistance program that serves military and non-military families. Eligibility requirements include being state licensed, having a state licensing inspection in the last 12 months free of disqualifying incidents, and completing an FBI background check.
The DoD approval is just the latest in a series of approvals for MSA-CESS. Over the past 12 months, MSA-CESS was recognized by the Virginia Council for Private Education (VCPE), the Oklahoma Private School Accreditation Commission (OPSAC), and the Texas Private School Accreditation Commission (TEPSAC), as an approved accreditation agency in those states.
Additionally, MSA-CESS was recently approved by the Commission for Independent Education (CIE) in Florida to license schools by means of accreditation. Lastly, MSA-CESS was approved by the Conference of Independent Schools of Ontario (CIS Ontario), an independent school association. MSA-CESS is now one of two accreditation agencies approved by CIS-Ontario to be able to accredit their nearly 50 member schools.
All of these approvals mean that MSA-CESS can work with more schools in more areas. This is an exciting development for schools that now have the opportunity to participate in MSA-CESS’ accreditation process. These developments also directly support objectives one and two of MSA-CESS’s current strategic plan, which focus on growing MSA-CESS’ membership and growing its influence as a leader in continuous school improvement.
