We are pleased to share today’s announcement that the U.S. Department of Education has renewed its recognition of Middle States Association Commission on Secondary Schools as a reliable authority on the quality of postsecondary education.
Federal recognition makes it possible for some Middle States accredited career and technical schools to access Title IV funds, or federal student aid.
Many Middle States member schools rely on federal student aid to teach and serve a diverse community of students. Today’s announcement ensures these organizations have continued access to the funding they need to carry out their important missions.
To earn federal recognition, Middle States underwent a rigorous review process that culminated in a presentation in July before the National Advisory Committee on Institutional Quality and Integrity (NACIQI), an independent federal advisory committee that advises the U.S. Secretary of Education on matters related to accreditation.
The recognition will last five years, which is the longest possible term.
